If I had a dollar for every so-called "free" AI tool that asked me to enter my card details, I'd be able to pay for all the ones that work.
You know the ones. A slick reel tells you about a mind-blowing AI tool that'll change your life. "Totally free," they say. You click the link, only to find:
- It's a 3-day free trial.
- You need to add a credit card to get started.
- You only get 5 credits before the upsell begins.
It's exhausting. And misleading.
So I did something about it. I went digging and put together a list of tools that are actually free. No hidden catches. No trial periods. No credit card field waiting at the final step.
Just tools you can use right now — properly, freely, and without having to check your bank account tomorrow.
What Counts as Truly Free?

What This Tells Us
Not everything free is good. But everything good shouldn't pretend to be free, either.
Let's stop falling for the bait. And start sharing what's real.
